OUR PURPOSES FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will process your personal information for one or more of the following purposes:

To provide our services (consumer data for online & offline marketing and analytics). Shopper’s Voice is a leading provider of consumer information to brands that want to advertise their products and services to you. Your survey responses will enable our clients to provide you with the most relevant offers for your household. For example, many of our clients create offers especially for people with certain interests and demographic characteristics.  Our clients may advertise to you in a variety of ways by using your personal information, such as by sending direct postal mail, email marketing messages, or digital advertisement like in a banner ad on a website. You can find more information in the Epsilon privacy policy as well.

Additionally, we may combine your personal information with personal information from other survey participants’ personal information to create aggregate and anonymous research reports for our clients. These reports will enable our clients to enhance and improve their respective products and services.

To maintain your Shopper’s Voice account, rewards program and facilitate our sweepstakes. After you complete one of our surveys, you may create an account on the Shopper’s Voice website. We will use your account credentials solely to maintain your account, which includes your rewards program status. You may earn points through our rewards program by opening and clicking on links in our emails and responding to surveys; therefore, through web beacons or pixels placed on the emails we send to you we can see how you interact with our emails in order to award you rewards points. We also offer sweepstakes to survey participants and will use the participants’ contact information for the sweepstakes drawing and provision of the winning prize.

To send you emails including offers and newsletters. By providing your email address, you may receive newsletters and product offers based on your survey responses via email. These emails are sent by Shopper’s Voice, not our clients, and are clearly marked with our logo. If at any time you no longer want to receive email offers, you can unsubscribe by clicking the Unsubscribe link in the email received, at managing your membership online, or by writing to us via email at contactus[at]mail.ShoppersVoice.com or via postal mail at the address indicated below under Contact Us.

Our email messages may contain links to other sites not affiliated with Shopper’s Voice and may have privacy practices that differ from those of Shopper’s Voice. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you may link to from our email messages.

To respond to queries or communication you send. On the Contact Us page of our website you may send us a message or you may email us. We will use the information you provide to respond to you.

To improve or modify our services. We may use your personal information to improve the services we offer to our clients and also to our survey participants. For instance, your responses to our surveys inform us on how to create new survey forms and questions.

We may place web beacons or pixel tags within our email messages to you to collect information about how you interact with those messages. This can include various interactions, such as whether the email was opened and what you clicked on within that email. Information regarding your interaction with our email messages helps us determine the best ways to contact you and what types of products and services you may prefer from our clients. For example, if you open an email, we may decide not to resend you that same offer since you have already seen it.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics for web analytics. Google Analytics’ will place a cookie on your browser and provide us with a report about how our websites work and your experience on our websites. See more information about cookies below.

Online advertising. Device tracking technologies like pixels are incorporated into our websites as well as into our ads displayed on other websites and services. Some of these tracking technologies may track your activities across time and services for purposes of associating the different devices you use, and delivering relevant ads and/or other content to you (“Interest-based Advertising”). We may also use audience matching services to reach people (or people similar to people) who have visited our website or are identified in one or more of our databases. This is done by us uploading a customer list to another party or incorporating a pixel from another party into our website, and the other party matching common factors between our data and their data or other datasets. For instance, we incorporate the Google DoubleClick and Epsilon pixels on our websites. As indicated below, vendors and other parties may in certain contexts, independently decide how to process your information. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with and consult their privacy policies and terms of use.

FINANCIAL INCENTIVES

Our Promotions. We may offer sweepstakes or promotions. Each individual promotion is governed by its own terms, and the exact financial incentive offered will be detailed in the respective sweepstakes rules or promotion terms.

Our Rewards Program. We offer a rewards program for survey participants that are US residents. See the terms of the rewards program here.

Opt-In to Our Financial Incentive Program. Prior to submitting your information and beginning the survey, you will be asked to agree that you have read the sweepstakes rule and the rewards program terms and agree to opt-in to our financial incentive programs. To opt-in to our financial incentive for an individual promotion, go to www.shoppersvoice.com if you’re a resident of the United States. You may, at any time, request to withdraw your consent by opting out or requesting to be deleted from our database as permitted by privacy laws and outlined in this Privacy Policy. Withdrawing your consent will affect the distribution of our emails for client promotions and offers as your name and contact information would no longer be included in the list made available to our clients. However, general client provided coupons are freely available and will continue being available to you on our website, and such withdrawal will not affect your participation and eligibility in a promotion you previously entered.

The Information we obtain from you as part of our collection practices outlined in this privacy policy enables us to provide our clients with opinions, preferences, and insights from shoppers like you. Although we value the information that we collect from you within our survey, that data is much more valuable to our business when combined with data collected from our other respondents as well. One consumer’s data has nominal value to us because in large data sets that also include data collected without incentive, the utility and value of the set is only nominally enhanced by the inclusion of one additional entry. We do not maintain a regular accounting of the financial value for each individual’s provided data.

Client Promotions and Offers. Any financial incentive provided by our client is subject to our client’s privacy policy.

Coupons/Discounted Products or Services: Our clients may provide coupons or discounts to you via email or postal mail from us or our client, or other advertising platform directly from the client. The terms of the coupon will be provided on the coupon itself. General coupons will be made accessible via links in our emails.

Samples: Our clients may provide product samples to you. Our client will decide who receives a free sample based on targeting criteria such as age, gender, income, product preference or usage, and other criterion. The targeting is based on the client’s good faith desire to distribute samples to individuals who are most likely to purchase their product. For example, the client partner company may only send a sample of dog food to a household that has self-reported in our survey that they own a dog. Likewise, another client may only decide to send a sample of a feminine hygiene product to households that have self-reported that they use that kind of product or have a female in the household.

Research Panels: You may also receive invitations to earn rewards through our client research panels. Your participation in the research panel is subject to the privacy policy provided by the client.

AUTOMATED DECISION MAKING AND PROFILING

To the extent that we use processes that involve automated decision making or profiling when processing your personal data, we take steps to ensure that any automated decision making or profiling practices are fair and not discriminatory. Additionally, we do not process your personal data for profiling that produces a legal or similar significant effect, such as a decision to offer to you or decline your request for employment, financial services, housing, or healthcare. We use automated processes to derive inferences and create audiences for interest based advertising and other marketing purpose, including for those clients that may advertise their products or services within the financial, housing, or healthcare industries.

INFORMATION ABOUT PERSONS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE

Our websites and surveys are intended for general audiences and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 18 years of age unless we have received legal consent to do so. If we learn that personal information from such minors has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to remove their information from our database (or to obtain legally required consent).

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We keep Personal information for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, complying with legal and regulatory obligations, protecting our or other’s interests, and as otherwise permitted or required by law. When Personal information is no longer necessary for or compatible with these purposes, it is removed from our systems in accordance with our internal retention policies. The criteria used to determine our retention periods include:

  • The length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and provide the Website or our services to you;
  • Whether our processing of the Personal information is consistent with what an average consumer would expect when the Personal information was collected;
  • Whether the Personal information is processed for any other disclosed purpose(s) compatible with what is reasonably expected by the average consumer;
  • Whether the Personal information is relevant and useful to the provision of our services and our further processing is permitted by law;
  • Whether the Personal information has been de-identified, anonymized, and/or aggregated; and
  • Whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject.

SECURITY

We use reasonable business practices including physical, technical and administrative safeguards designed to protect your information against loss, misuse or alteration.

Shopper’s Voice is a licensed user of Sectigo’s state-of-the-art encryption technology. We use Sectigo’s services to securely transmit the data you provide to us on our registration form, survey pages, and login page. We also use this feature on our “Contact Us” page.
